I don’t normally read e-books, but I checked out John Chow’s new Ultimate Blog Profit e-book and it inspired me to get into e-mail marketing. I’ve done e-mail marketing half assed on Gator Envy for years, but never really given it the attention it deserved.
I ditched Mail Chimp and signed up for Aweber (affiliate link). It’s only $1 for the first month so I figured why not. I added e-mail sign up forms to four of my websites and have 90 subscribers in just a few days. Two of the sites I created unique giveaway content for to entice people to sign up. It seems to be working.
I’ve set up follow up e-mail at intervals of 7 days to keep my subscribers engaged. I have about 5 follow up e-mails per site. The first three e-mails were drafted to build trust. There are no sales efforts in them. The next two auto emails I created still have content in them but I included some sales material in them to try and make money.
It will be interesting to see how much I can make from my e-mail lists. I hope I don’t want to kill myself for not starting this sooner.

1Really love to see what results you get out of this! If they are good, I am going to try something like that to!
What do you try to sell in these mails? surveys or actual products? memberships??

3Email marketing is a great tool that most people think is outdated. I’m glad to see someone else that understands its brilliance. How are your results?
