Well, this morning I received my first Facebook spam message. Got the email saying I have a new facebook message from Ryan Bogavi, obviously someone not on my friend list. Open the email and sure enough it’s one of those African spam emails. I then logged into my Facebook account to see if this was a real message or just an email, but there the message was… sitting in my Facebook inbox.

I’m sure I could increase my privacy settings to not allow messages from strangers, but generally it’s a good idea to keep this active in case you have a long lost friend or relative trying to reach you.

Here’s a copy of the email so you don’t get duped.

Naturally, this letter will come to you as a surprise since we have not met,but please permit me to introduce myself to you.

My name is : Barrister Ryan Bogavi, a solicitor at law, personal attorney to Engr. J. P. Lithman, a national of your country,who used to work as a contractor in Africa. Here in after shall be referred to as my client,who died some years ago in a fatal accident on September 2005, All occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost their lives. Since then I have made several inquiries here to locate any of my clients extended relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful.
