I think I had talked about doing this a long time ago, but like other venture ideas, never really acted on it. Until now… If you came here visiting lithman.net, you probably noticed that you were automatically redirected to my new domain, davidlithman.com
Why the switch?
There are a couple of reasons:
1. Having my domain name as just lithman.net didn’t really help brand my full name. Easier for people to remember who you are if they know your first name as well. After listening to Gary Vee give the Keynote at Affiliate Summit West, I picked up the importance of branding.
2. Maybe my views and opinions don’t represent all Lithman’s. Better to associate everything I’m doing with my own name, then that of all Lithman’s. Now there is no confusion of who is writing here.
3. Everyone else does it?
4. Blogging on your domain is largely done by people in the internet marketing world, but it could be big in masses in the future. There could be a day that as soon as you’re smart enough to read and write that your blogging on your full name domain. Even though I’ve been blogging on lithman.net for like 3 years, better to move over to my new domain now then wait another couple of years.
Overall, I didn’t like the way my old blog/domain was moving. I felt like I needed to refocus and revamp. I didn’t find joy in bloggin anymore. With a new domain, new design and new focus of this blog, I’m hoping I’ll be able to contribute to it more on a regular basis.
The focus of my blog is not going to be solely internet marketing or my online ventures. I’m going to blog about whatever the hell I want to here. During the past few months, I felt conflicted if I wanted to write a post about politics or sports because 90% of my readers were used to this being like a webmaster blog. Now you know that my focus here will be less on internet ventures and more on everything going on in my life.
Over the next few days/weeks I’ll be tweaking this site to make sure it’s fully functional and I didn’t miss anything from my previous domain.
Why the black hole picture?
No real reason other then I think it looks badass. To capture the readers’ attention on this blog I’m going to start using more pics.

2There’s a picture of me on the about page and plenty on facebook. The blackhole also represents the disappearance of my old blog domain.
