twitter

This morning I published a post about whether or not I will start using Twitter. I created my account, but was unsure of how I would contribute to the Twitter community.

I was browsing the blogosphere this afternoon and stopped by one of my daily reads: Zappos. Tony Hsieh, Zappos CEO, wrote a great post titled “How Twitter Can Make You A Better (and Happier) Person.” For Tony, it comes down to four things:

1. Transparency & Values: Twitter constantly reminds me of who I want to be, and what I want Zappos to stand for
2. Reframing Reality: Twitter encourages me to search for ways to view reality in a funnier and/or more positive way
3. Helping Others: Twitter makes me think about how to make a positive impact on other people’s lives
4. Gratitude: Twitter helps me notice and appreciate the little things in life

I took this as a sign that I should go ahead with my plans to start tweeting. I make no promises in the number of tweets per day I will do, but I’ll give it a shot.

After reading his examples for No. 2 Reframing Reality, I thought that I could benefit from this one the most. I get angry and frustrated rather quickly… with Twitter on my iPhone, now maybe I can turn those frustrations into humorous tweets.

You can find me @DavidLithman. Follow me and I will follow you back. If there’s anything you’d like me to tweet about on a regular basis please comment below.

Can you think of any other things to add on to Tony H’s list?
