During Affiliate Summit West 2009 in Las Vegas, I stopped by the Facebook Advertising meet market booth for a quick chat. They wanted to talk with advertisers about their interface and advertising program in general. They even got my on video complaining about how they run things. I forget the guys name I was talking to, but he was assuring me that Facebook would be revamp their ad review process and really consider all the complaints and recommendations advertisers were giving them.

I’m starting to believe them.

I’ve noticed over the past few days that my ads have been approved a lot quicker then normal. It used to take as much as 12 hours to get 1 ad approved. Yesterday I had several ads approved in a matter of minutes. Now maybe I just got lucky, or maybe they are trying to fix things?

I also noticed that instead of automatically disapproving my ad and sending me a generic email with ad guidelines, they ‘preapproved’ my ad and actually showed me what I needed to change to get the ad accepted. All you do is click the “make changes” button and the ad will be instantly approved. The side-by-side example of your original ad and the revised ad makes it much easier to see what you did wrong. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. In this case, it’s a simple capitalization and punctuation mistake.

Facebook has the potential to be one of the best advertising platforms out there. It looks like they’re listening to us and really looking to move their ad program to a new level (unlike Yahoo Publisher).
