i think u should just focus on a specific niche area. we have got digg, del...icio.. stumpuopon, etc... u get the pic.

unless ur website is really focus like maybe just mobile, or pda, or gadgets, etc.. traffic won't come.

I think you should give it a try but you have to do something with it to make it more special, what I do not know but I am sure you can come up with something.

First of all, I just want to say that just because a site has been languishing doesn't mean it's dead and you have to get rid of it. I've had sites that had no activity for over a year, and once I had time for them they picked up nicely. You have a lot of sunk costs already in the site. Not to mention the fact that domains that keep an accessible site get better with age whether they are updated of not.

I think the design is fine. Whether you change it or not is more about what you think than other people think. I read the comment of the guy who criticized it. The design is fine, but it wouldn't win any awards for originality either. Maybe it could use some graphics to liven it up. Though I think that's beside the point.

First, I think the best thing about this site is that it's user generated content. So maintainance is minimal. Second, get more backlinks. Third, GET MORE BACKLINKS! haha.
Fourth, monetize it. So what if it doesn't make much. It's a metric to help you measure progress. Sometimes you need that to keep your interest.

That's my 2 cents. You may not agree. But as you know, I enjoy offering advice.

Hi David,

I think the most important thing to really consider is how do YOU think and feel about it. Do you have other opportunities on the go? Are you willing to put in the work to make it a success? While we have never met I do know that we probably share the same passion for being successful at whatever we choose. Focus in and make it happen Dave!

Attempting to comete with Digg etc would set you back A LOT of money! However, you could attempt to make a SiteOfTheDay[dot]com style site and really pump up readership through free private subscriptions, i.e. the site of the day to their inbox.

Social bookmark/voting sites are popular though, perhaps look at where Digg etc are failing and use this to your advantage.

Hope this helps,
