Top Hosting – Informative Site About Web Hosting
Several months ago, Andreas Bard and I had a concept for a web site that could be an asset to the webmaster community. However, due to time constraints (we live like 12 time zones a part) and other factors, we abandoned the project. With his approval I took it upon myself to revive the project. So today I introduce to you Site Voter.
What is Site Voter?
Site voter is a newest digg style type where webmasters can submit their website (or any website) for a free ‘review’. If users like the website, it will be voted up to the front page, just like on digg. Users can also post comments about the website.
Why do I want to submit my site?
You get a free backlink that’s why. You also get traffic sent to your site and reader reviews.
The webmaster community really lacks a true review system. People will post reviews in webmaster forums, but they hardly get 1 or 2 replies. With the voting system, submitters will be able to tell instantly how well liked their web site it. Whether it’s brand new or you’ve had it for a long time, you can submit your site and watch the traffic come in.
Site Voter will also act as a ‘Site of the Month’ authority. Every month we will take the site that has the most votes and create a special award for you to place on your website. Also in consideration are prizes for the top voted sites, but we haven’t finalized that just yet. By being the top voted site you will also get a featured link on the Site Voter homepage.
It really is a win-win situation for the submitter and Site Voter. Whenever you make a new site, submit to Site Voter just as you would to Google, Yahoo, or other web directories. It’s absolutely free to register, and only takes 10 seconds of your time because there is no email verification.
Let me know what you think of the idea, the domain, and the site. If you think it’s a great idea, I’d greatly appreciate it if you sign up, submit a site or two and participate.

9I added two of my sites as you know. It would be awesome if we were some of the starting sites in a future digg.

11I love nice simple ideas like this. Rate-my-site is such a popular category on any web design forum this should be a hit.

12Just submitted a site – really nice process although the spell check failed for me (Firefox, xp). I’m also going to give you a bit of free publicity through a blog post

13Paul – Thanks a lot. And thanks for finding that spellcheck bug. I figured there would be some small things I would miss.
