A wise man once said “You can never go on too many vacations.” I am leaving tomorrow morning for Cleveland, Ohio to spend some time with my girlfriend’s family. I was hoping for a lot of snow and fun, but after looking at the 10 day forecast it says high 40s to low 50s and raining. Ouch… that puts a damper on things. I’ve been a quite a hiatus from work and the internet. It is fun to get away, but I’ll definitely be excited to get back to my sites next week.

I know I was just on a 10 day vacation from work, but those were free days giving to me. For my trip to Ohio I will actually be using 3 of my saved vacation days. I’ll be gone from Wednesday till Sunday afternoon. I’ll be back in full swing Monday, January 8th. I highly doubt I’ll be posting when I’m in Cleveland, but check back just in case.

During my 10 days off, I realized something…and that is how much fun and enjoyable life can be when you are not constrained by a job. A lot of webmasters don’t have 40 hr/wk jobs working for the man. I was livng your life this past week. Waking up at 11:00, going out to eat all the time, playing video games… and then at the end of the day you log into your pc and check your Google Adsense. The only difference is when I check my Adsense I only see $13

I’m just kdding though. If any stay at home webmasters actually just loaf around all day, then they better enjoy it now because it won’t last. I know a lot of you are very hard workers and have earned your freedom.

Update Update Update

I have got to update my fan sites with current news. There is no way I can get consistent traffic to fan sites by posting on them only once a week. I need daily news to keep the readers hungry. Once I get back on the 8th I really need to lockdown on my sites and get some solid work done.

Gator Envy

I did some Myspace promoting last night for my Florida Gators forum. I created a myspace profile for myseld www.myspace.com/gatorenvy and sent out around 200 friend requests. In about 50 of those I included a simple message explaining my site. I also joined about 5 or 6 Florida Gator groups. Once I get more friends, I’ll start posting in the group forums and sending out bulletins. I’m not going to pay people for bulletins because I need targeted traffic. The only way for me to reach my niche is to do it myself.

Buying a Site

When I get back from vacation I will also be in the market for purchasing a website. I mentioned a while back that I have a backer willing to invest a couple thousand dollars into a website with me. I just need to find one I like. I’ll begin my search on Monday

Bringing Traffic to my Blog

My traffic building experiment isn’t going so well. Mostly because I’m not doing it!! Starting Monday when I get back into my daily posting routine, I’ll light a fire under this project and really test it out.
