As you can see (unless you read my posts through a feeder and don’t ever visit my site), I made a few small adjustments that I thought my improve my blog’s look and possible number of readers.
The first thing you might notice is I removed my picture from the top right corner. I wanted to spare readers from seeing my face everyday, so I moved the picture to the About Me page where it is more appropriate.
I also moved the Feedburner graphic/link to the top of the sidebar. This will give it more visibility. I was looking around and noticed that most blogs have it at the top. I’m not sure if it’s to show off how many readers they have, or to make the Feedburner more accessible by not stashing it away at the bottom. I’m up to 11 readers now. Not nearly as many as most entrepreneur blogs, but hey… it’s better than 0.
Another small add-on is the top commentors plugin I placed on the sidebar. Thanks to John’s 16 Best Wordpress Plugins post, I can always find the download pages for all the top plugins. It is much easier than searching Google or the Wordpress site. As you can see, I am the top commentor.
With Nomar and Nick coming in 2nd and 3rd. I’m not sure this wordpress commentor plugin is grabbing all my comments though. I think it’s starting fresh from comments made on this page and nothing in my archive. Somehow I think Nomar has a lot more comments than 9.. same with Jacob and Nick.
I also moved the Dreamhost advertisement down a bit. I thought it looked funky having two advertisements at the top like that.
That’s pretty much it for the blog updates. Look for another post or two sometime today!

1Hey,
I don’t know if I like where the Dreamhost advertisement is currently. Seems to break apart your well put together right bar a lot. But that’s just my opinion.

2Hey David,
Like Jacob said – The Dreamhost button looks a bit out of place the way you put it, maybe you should create another division in your sidebar called “sponsors” and center it under that?

3I like the changes. Also, i think there is a way to turn your comments off from being posted, I know a few other bloggers do that like john chow and stephen fung. And as far as having “only” 11 subscribers…i only have 3

4David,
The top commentator list works like this:
It is a default option that it reset every month. I made more comments than 9, Yes. But not in January I think
If you want to check who has the most comments on your blog besides you than you have to fill in ‘all’ in the “reset” (at your show_top_commentators.php)
The reason you show up is normal to.. I am using this script to. I filled in “Administrator, Nomar” in the “filter_users” in the .php script.
It is easy editable.

5I removed myself from the top commentator spot on my blog. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure I would be #1 as well.
